The Flying Eagle Cent is the first small sized cent coin and issued only for 3 years to replace the costy Large Cents.
In 1856, US Mint issued about 3,000 regular and proof Flying Eagle cents for test, however the coins released to the public somehow and they are very rare.
Along with Susan B Anthony dollar series, Flying Eagle cent is one of the shortest coin series in the US coin history.
